On the occasion of the 27th anniversary of the Glorious Throne Day of Morocco, King Mohammed VI received a message from the President of the United States of America. In his message, President Trump extended his congratulations to His Majesty the King, and to the Moroccan people, stating:
“This year, we celebrate 250 years of American history and enduring friendship with Morocco—a relationship forged in trust and mutual respect.”
With regard to the issue of the Moroccan Sahara, the President of the USA reaffirmed to the King of Morocco:
“The United States is clear: we recognize Morocco’s sovereignty over Western Sahara, and we support Morocco’s serious, credible and realistic autonomy initiative as the only basis for a just and lasting solution. Any other approach merely prolongs the status quo and is unacceptable. This dispute must now come to an end, and the United States will continue to work towards achieving that objective.”
President Trump further stated:
“Your Majesty’s wise leadership is a pillar of stability. Morocco’s steadfast commitment to promoting peace, combating extremism and safeguarding the security of both Americans and Moroccans—including through its crucial role in the Abraham Accords—reflects a partnership of great value to the United States. To that end, we will also work together to strengthen security across the Sahel region.”
With respect to bilateral economic cooperation, the President’s message states:
“Your vision for growth opens new opportunities for prosperity for both our peoples and our economies. I have directed my teams to advance economic and social development with Morocco, including in the territory of Western Sahara. Trusted American technology and innovation will continue to serve as partners to Morocco over the next 250 years across all strategic sectors, including energy, artificial intelligence, critical minerals and defence.”
The message concludes:
“Together, we will build a new era—one that places the interests of our two peoples first.”
