Former Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp has been honoured with a statue in the city, where he led the Merseyside club from 2015 to 2024.
The club and the city have paid tribute to the German coach with a 46-centimetre-tall bronze statue. The full-length sculpture depicts Klopp wearing his trademark baseball cap, with one hand over his heart and the other clenched into a fist.
The statue was funded by supporters, specifically the Spirit of Shankly supporters’ group.
Klopp, who is currently Germany’s national team coach, was in charge of Liverpool from 2015 to 2024. During his tenure, the Reds won the Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup in 2019, before ending a 30-year wait for a league title in 2020. Liverpool also won the FA Cup and League Cup in 2022, and lifted the League Cup again in 2024.
